Seattle Composers' Salon - Friday November 5th

What: An evening of music and discussion with Seattle composer Joël-François Durand. When: Friday, November 5, 2010, 8:00 PM Where: Chapel Performance Space ( link ), 4649 Sunnyside Ave. N, 4th Floor How Much: $5-15 donation We are very excited for the November Salon, as we are changing things up a bit. The familiar, curated "open-mic"-type salon will be back, but for this month we have a special event. Composer Joël-François Durand, a professor at the University of Washington, will be taking us on a journey of his work and compositional process. We will hear several of Durand's works, and there will be the usual Q and A from the audience for him as well. Don't miss this chance to get to know the music of a prolific and influential Northwest Composer. Joël-François Durand was born in Orléans, France on 17 September, 1954. The September Salon, which is the season opener for our 12th season, is dedicated to George's memory and his legacy. Please join us. We will miss you George.

Join us at the Chapel Performance Space for the May Salon. 8:00 PM $5-15 suggested donation New works by: Marcus Oldham Sean Osborn Greg Bartholomew Neal Kosaly-Meyer We were happy to host the winners of the Simon Fiset Composition awards on March 6th. A group of wonderful young composers (ages 6 to 16) were honored at the salon, and gave inspiring performances of their works. Look for next year's winners in May of 2010.
